Many people experience the frustration and inconvenience of frequent urination. There are many different causes of frequent urination and some of them are serious while others are not. If you have been waking up in the middle of the night with the sudden urge to urinate you should probably visit with your doctor to determine the exact cause in your situation.
Some of the non-serious causes of frequent urination include drinking fluids containing water, alcohol or caffeine before you go to sleep. Also if you drink too many fluids your bladder is going to fill up pretty quickly as well and you’ll need to urinate more often. These causes have easy fixes, which include drinking fewer to no fluids just prior to lying down to go to sleep.
Pregnant women and women going through menopause may also experience frequent urination. Urinating more often than normal during these major life changes will likely pass, but if it’s making you uncomfortable don’t hesitate to speak with your doctor about any concerns you may have. Your health should be your primary concern especially if you are carrying a child.
One of the more serious causes of frequent urination in women could be from ovarian cysts or even ovarian cancer. Other symptoms could include pelvic pain or pressure, bowel pattern changes and a bloated abdomen. If you are experiencing any of these symptoms with or without frequent urination you should see a doctor as quickly as possible to get examined.
Frequent urination can become a huge annoyance but it could be stemming from something a lot more serious so it should never just be ignored. If you’re certain your frequent urination isn’t from consuming too many fluids prior to bedtime and it keeps happening on a regular basis the best thing you can do for yourself is to get it checked out.

Hi,
The treatment for frequent urination depends on its cause. May it be too much fluid intake or possible health problem. You can list down the signs and symptoms other thatfrequent in urination so that we may be able to know the possible reason of frequent in urination.
what is the appropriate age for the signs and symptoms of menopause to start showing
Hi
Menopause stage occurs in women’s midlife, usually at their late 40′s and early 50′s. The effects are based on the changes in hormones that women are going through, and they affect each woman to a different extent. The only sign that most women have is that by the end of the menopause transition every woman will have a complete cessation of menses.
Hope this Information Helps You! Good Day!
Dear Rachel,
I have a son who is aged 13 years. His main problem is night urination and frequent urination during day. The problem has been so puzzling that it sometimes affects his concetntartion at school. The problem intensified when he jojned secondary school. We have tested Diabets but his blood sugar is fine. He does not take alot of fluids before he sleeps but has always found himself urinating and only discovers when he has woken up in the morning. Might it be a problem of too much sleep in which case we may have to look for other advise. Please advise
Thank you
Charles PK
Hi Charles,
The most possible problem your child is facing is overactive bladder. Whether the child drink more or not before and during night time, if overactive bladder is present, it will cause nocturia or night time urination. Even the bladder is not full, it tends to cause frequent in urination. I advice you to consult you doctor for your child and eventually they will suggest muscle exercises for the bladder like Kegel’s exercise and medications like anticholinergic drugs will also help in relaxing the bladder muscles. Be sure to rehydrate your child so that he will not experience dehydration.
I had a hystorectomy at the age of 28 and I’m now 33. Ive been having excessive bladder urination along with pelvic pain. Can u tell me if the two are related ? Thanks

Hi Yeanoh,
I advice you to stop drinking alcohol and energy drink because it will cause you frequent urination. Also drink right amount of fluid, too much fluid intake won’t help you get well, hence it will add up to the frequent urination the you have. Instead, add fiber to your diet, have regular exercise in order for you to lose weight. That things would help you towards good healthy and free from frequent in urination.
Hi Yeanoh, i have a fraquent urination problem I went to my doctor twice and i take ultrasound and everything fine but i m having the same problem.
Hi,
Ultrasound alone cannot detect what is the cause of the problem. I advise you to list down the symptoms that you felt and the things that you do that may lead to frequent urination like consuming large amount of water, drinking caffeinated beverages as well as alcohol, or the weather instead. Have a blood sugar level test because diabetes can cause frequent in urination.
